Pleased to see the back of warm but poor wind April and welcome May with rain and 8 degree temperature but at least the wind was blowing :) I was just getting ready to go to The Dip - Felixstowe even though there was abit too much north in it to make it ideal but there were some kiters out going okay (some had been out since 6 in the morning !!! ) when fellow Team East sailer Peter Cutts phoned and said he was Billy no mates and was going to Bradfield on the River Stour near Manningtree so decided to join him.I arrived at 11 in rain and being in no hurry, read the paper and waited for Pete. When he arrived at 11.30 we decided to brave the poor weather and with winds gusting to 25 mph I went for the 6.4 and big slalom to gauge the conditions.I had a bumpy hour on the big board in the up and down wind and made 27.95 kts but not much fun in the chop.I hummed and harred about rigging the 7m but stuck with the 6.4 and then tried the 90 which was much better suited to the condtions even if it meant abit of floundering.Still it was as good as this direction offered locally and we got the month off to an okay start :) Pete did even better being just shy of 30 kts !!!!
